The House of Wisdom Graduation Ceremony - Gaza

The House of Wisdom Institute for Conflict Resolution and Governance (which Forward Thinking facilitated the setup of) held a graduation ceremony for the graduates of its training courses in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Several ministers of Parliament such as Mr. Faraj Al Ghoul the minister for Justice, leaders of security apparatuses, Directors and many other influential members of the community attended the ceremony.

Mr. Nahedh Al Rayyes, the head of the House of Wisdom board of Trustees, in his introductory speech explained how the Institute’s objective to serve and develop the community is done through training the governmental and non-governmental employees which compliments the work of the government..

The head of the schools of Dar Al Arqam's administration council, Mr Mohamad Hasan Shamaa, thanked the Institute for its efforts and integral role in working with the governmental and non-governmental organizations, a role which serves to increase the potential for cooperation and progression in society. Dr. Mohamad Awad, the secretary general of the council of ministers, said that the government encourages the work of the NGOs and that that the government continually seeks to facilitate their work.

The Director General of the Diplomatic Training Programme, Mahmoud Al Madhoun explained how the ceremony served to honour the trainees of the first phase in the cooperation protocol signed between the ministry and the institute. The second phase, which will be more specialized, will include courses in the art of negotiation, dealing with media, conflict management, diplomacy and creativity thinking. In addition, it will seek to invite foreign experts in the above mentioned fields to help develop the Palestinian political cadres.

More than 177 individuals were awarded certificates including members of the Palestinian Legislative Council who attended an English language course. Dr. Ahmed Yousef, Deputy of the Foreign Ministry, distributed two honour Medals for both Mr. Mohamad Shamaa and Dr. Mohamad Awadh for their effort and commitment.
