Our Director to participate in a new United Nations Project: “The Rapid Response Media Mechanism”

Our Director Oliver McTernan has been invited to participate in an exciting new United Nations project entitled “The Rapid Response Media Mechanism” which has been set up by the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations. The project aims to support the positive and constructive role the media can play in bridging cultural gaps and helping to build understanding amongst nations and cultures.

It will include over 100 world-class academics, analysts and commentators and will serve the needs of journalists working across the Mediterranean region with the European Commission and the Anna Lindh Foundation. The initiative provides user-friendly access to information and expertise in the context of crises with cultural dimensions as well as a support mechanism to bring together international journalists, editors and relevant experts for media dialogue.

Forward Thinking hopes to support and contribute to this project by sharing the perspectives of the diverse grassroots communities and stakeholders we engage with in the Middle East & UK regions, in order to improve the prospects for peace.
